Introduction:

Have you ever fallen in love with someone so deeply that you believe all the other things don’t matter anymore? Or the pressures from either school, family, or work stopped you from bravely chasing your true love or your dream? From the movie which I will introduce to you shortly, maybe we can see ourselves inside the characters and learn a thing or two about chasing our dreams and love.

La La Land is a 2016 American romantic comedy-drama musical film written and directed by Damien Chazelle. It stars Ryan Gosling as a jazz pianist and Emma Stone as an aspiring actress, who meet and fall in love with each other while pursuing their dreams in Los Angeles. The movie was a huge success that made a worldwide total of $446.1 million at the box office against its relatively low budget. It secured 6 out of 14 Oscar nominations in the bag, as one of the biggest winners of the year.

Plot:

Aspiring yet failing actress Mia Dolan struggles to have a successful audition, while Sebastian Wilder is a jazz pianist who also seeks for work.

After their unpleasant first encounter during traffic, they meet each other again during a gig at a restaurant. As Sebastian gets fired because of his disobedient choice of music at the jazz improvisation, Mia, deeply moved by his performance, attempts to talk to him but gets brushed off. Months later, these two run into each other again at a party where Sebastian now plays in a 1980s band. After the gig, on the way to their cars, chemistry finally happened between the two…
