The music video, which references Mean Girls, Bring It On, 13 Going on 30 and Legally Blonde, was released on November 30, 2018, and subsequently broke several YouTube records.

Quinn Moreland from Pitchfork named the song the week’s “Best New Track” and praised Grande’s ability to talk about her past relationships with new found serenity.
